6 new Beardilizer beard oils

Yes, you heard that right, SIX (6) new Beardilizer beard oils hit the market a couple of weeks ago, and wow are you in for a treat. The scents are not as crazy as the older Dirty South Bacon or Leather scents, but there are some gems here.

The new Beardilizer beard oils are:

  • Tea Tree Trance
  • Jelly Beard
  • Citrus Blast
  • Dr Frankincense
  • Cortes Vanilla
  • Maori Ta Moko

I’d thought we’d go trough them in the order above and I will give my opinion on the different scents. As for the oil itself, it’s a semi thick oil with great absorption capabilities, softening for the beard and it really hydrates both the skin and beard. The base ingredients in all Beardilizer beard oils are: Moroccan Argan Oil known for its nourishing properties, Jamaican Black Castor Oil used to stimulate hair growth, Australian Eucalyptus Leaf Oil known for its revitalizing, cleansing properties, Greek Rosemary Leaf Oil used in the prevention of dandruff and protection of hair follicles. There are also Italian Grape Seed Oil used to bring shine and moisturise to hair, Greek Olive Oil known for promoting hair growth, Californian Jojoba Seed Oil used to soften hair and skin and American Soybean Oil known for its cleansing properties.

High quality ingredients mixed together to make your beard feel and smell great. But now, let’s get on with the scents.

Cortes Vanilla

Tea Tree Trance

The Tea Tree Trance oil if one for the books, with the almost fresh eucalyptus scent, it really energize you and wakes you up in the morning. It might remind you of cooling ointments or salves scent wise, but as a beard oil, it really hits the spot. I for one love the semi strong scent, the scent itself makes my beard feel clean and fresh, and I almost get a elevated state of focus.

Jelly Beard

Got a sweet tooth? Good, this is the oil for you… Jelly Beard has actually been available in Europe for some time now, and I freaking love it. I’m so happy that the US gets to try this one. Imagine the sweet candy scent and taste of Jelly Beans, this smells exactly like that. I so love it. I almost wish I could taste the oil, but having it in my beard all day really makes me happy. It might sound like a novelty scent, but it’s actually amazing.

Citrus Blast

My favourite scent of the new Beardilizer beard oils. This is hard to explain, but I have always loved citrus scents, especially LIME. I love lime, love it… All I can think of when using this oil is fresh. Fresh and happy, happy and energized. The scent is so citrusy, sweet and uplifting. It will make your summer endeavours even better and people around you will love it.

Dr Frankincense Citrus Blast Tee Tree Trance Beard Oil

Dr Frankincense

Nature wants you. Dr Frankincense is a bit different from the other and remind me more about nature, earth and the outdoors. With a slight citrusy and herby scent mixed with nature, this oil is perfect for those camping trips or evenings out on the lawn. This one is darker, richer and heavier in the scent then the other new Beardilizer beard oils. A great compliment to use on your hiking days.

Cortes Vanilla

This…. this is my favourite, never mind me saying that Citrus Blast was my favourite, this is… I’m actually writing this review in steps, trying one oil at a time for some time, writing down my thoughts, hence the change of hearts. If a beard oil could be sexy, it would be called Cortes Vanilla. This dark, warm and comforting vanilla scent is so intoxicating and unique, that I want to use it every day. When I was testing this oil, I was actually using the oil and then laying in bed with the lights off just enjoying it, dreaming away to a better place, taking deep breaths and mellowing out. I really, really love Cortes Vanilla.

Maori Ta Moko

When I first read the name of this new Beardilizer beard oil, the word “tropical beach” hit my mind. It turns out I was right. Maori Ta Moko is a tropical scent with a hint of suntan oil and perfume. I actually want a drink now, one of those umbrella drinks or a drink served directly out of a pineapple. This oil takes me away to a stress free life full of sun, beaches and refreshing drinks. It really hit the spot for me.

Tee Tree Trance

There we go, that was the six new Beardilizer beard oils, a well diverse set of oils with different scents for different situations. I think Beardilizer did a great job with these and really found a scent for everyone.

You can find the new oils on Beardilizer’s website, just click here! and it will take you to their online store!

Concentrated beard oil – say what?

I was a bit confused when I saw this a couple of weeks ago, concentrated beard oil? I’ve been using regular beard oil for a couple of years now, and never thought about it in this form or shape. Could this be the next big thing?

Well, maybe. The Layrite concentrated beard oil comes in a tube, decent sized (59 ml). In this review I will try to cover all the basics and try to give you a good overview of what this product is all about. I was thinking that this must be like a beard balm or cream, but not so much. This is something else, this is concentrated beard oil!

The first thing that hit me when trying this out, was how easy it is with a concentrated form. No more spilling beard oil all over the sink. The concentrated beard oil (now named CBO) is a semi see through white’ish gel with terrific scent of warm and sweet vanilla.

The list of ingredients are Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet almond) oil, Trihydroxystearin (Thickening agent), Persea Gratissima (Avocado) oil, Glycine Soja (Soybean) oil, Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil, Coumarin and Fragrance.

The fragrance is fantastic, I mean, really really fantastic. The Sweet, warm and comforting vanilla really makes me feel amazing. The scent os something I would love as a perfume. It’s not only the scent that is warm, the CBO itself really gets down to your skin, giving it a warm loving sensation and moisturising it. The beard feels really soft and healthy for hours and hours after application, and the scent lingers just as long.

This is a product that you should try, because the thicker form really helps with application, and it’s very good, and who know, the next big thing might be concentrated beard oil.

If you are interested in trying it out, check out Layrite’s website, or if you live in Sweden, head on over to Beardshop.se and get it!

Beard wipes?! Yes, you heard me!

Beard Wipes are quite a new thing in the beard community, the earliest I’ve seen was about 1.5 years ago, and after that only a few brands have produced them.

Why are Beard Wipes a life saver?
Well, we all eat out sometimes, some more then others, but when we do, regular napkins really doesn’t do the job properly. Imagine after having a sloppy burger, soup or greasy ribs, the restaurants dry napkins aren’t that good to be honest. Sure, your beard and moustache might feel clean, but then after an hour or two you start to feel the smell of your last meal, wondering where it comes from. Before you know it, you realise the smell is coming from your beard or moustache.

Thats because when you cleaned it with a regular napkin, you only got the visible stuff off your beard. The rest, the smell, the sauces, the microscopic parts of food, they are still there.

What can Beard Wipes do then?
The Beard Wipes contain cleaning agents that get everything microscopic and smelly out of your beard, and at the same time moisturising it, making it feel crispy fresh and clean. After the use of a beard wipe, your beard and moustache will feel like your straight out of the shower, fixing your beard. You know that awesome feeling of satisfaction after prepping your beard in the morning. There’s nothing better then that freshness!

Beardilizer Beard WipesWhere can I get Beard Wipes?
You can get awesome BeardWipes from Beardilizer – buy them in packs of 10 and you are set for awhile. Not only do they come in beautiful packaging, but one wipe will definitely clean your whole beard and moustache, no matter the size. They also contain a keratin and wheat protein blend which helps protect your beard from UV rays, pollution, skin dryness, dust and other contaminants. They contain an antibacterial agent as well as Biotin and D-Panthenol whick are key ingredients for making your beard in stronger, better and thicker!

You can get the BeardWipes from Beardilizer here!

In the last 2 years, there has been a sprout in beard product manufacturers in Sweden, and I love it. Getting to try local products puts everything into perspective when trying mostly international brands. Beard Monkey are one of these Swedish beard product manufacturers that have hit the scene and really made it. Today I’m reviewing their Beard Oil, Balm, Shampoo & Conditioner.

The products I’m testing are all Sweet Tobacco scented.

Starting off with the Beard Monkey Shampoo, I have to say Wow!
The shampoo lathers like crazy and makes my beard feel really clean and soft, the Sweet Tobacco scent is amazing to say the least. I remember when I first started reviewing beard products around 3 years ago, I was always hesitant of trying products named “Tobacco”. Why? Well, I was new to the product scene and thought that tobacco would smell like… well tobacco. A nasty unsmoked cigarette! Boy, was I wrong!

Tobacco smells sweet, almost candylike or cakelike, especially this Sweet Tobacco. I really can’t describe the scent in such a way that would be comprehensible, the scent is so damn beautiful. Every time I take a wiff my mind goes into a state of euphoria, my mouth letting out a Homer Simpson-like donut ecstasy, mmm donuts… but in this case: Mmmm Sweet Tobacco.

After a good shampoo’ing comes the conditioner!
Finishing off with a good beard conditioner after a shower is really good, because water dries out your beard… weird huh? Using a good conditioner is also key if you are planning on blowdrying your beard after the shower, it adds a level of heat protection as well and keeping it moist and hydrated. Seeing as this condition have the same amazing scent as the schampoo, Sweet Tobacco, only makes the experience so much better!

Both the shampoo and conditioner lasts a long time, I’ve used them for a little over two weeks, and I can hardly see a difference in the bottles. The Shampoo comes without a pump – over pouring may occur. The condition comes with a pump, which makes dosage very easy.

Beard Monkey Beard oil and Balm – Great combo!
The beard oil smells even greater then the shampoo and conditioner due to oils carrying scents better. And damn, I can’t stop smelling it. It makes me all warm on the inside and a bit frisky, and as it gets colder and colder outside, this scent and oil are perfect due to the warm, sweet and loving scent. The oil is a clear oil and a bit runny, but adjusting the dosage takes care of that, and the scent lingers for hours. I don’t know how many times I’ve caught myself holding my beard to my nose at work, just smelling it over and over, the scent is perfect.

The balm is pretty special, as it’s not a hard wax based balm, but a smoother and creamy kind of balm, it also is Orange/Cinnamon scented. It’s snow white and at first I took a bit much, which made my beard a white’ish shade, but a few brush strokes took care of that and the balm blended perfectly with my beard. When I test balms I usually apply it in the morning, check up on it a few times a day and then a final time when I get home, to see if it made it through the day, and damnit it did. My beard where in the same perfect shape in the evening as it was just after application in the morning.

To sum up, Beard Monkey have succeeded in getting their scents and products to a near perfect score. The oil was a bit loose, so I had to adjust the dosage to a little bit less, but worked just fine. If you get the chance to try, buy or win these products, I would urge you to do it!

• The fragrance, a deep and manly fragrance. Old oxford furniture embraced by sweet tobacco leafs in a dim lighted bar, shelves upon shelves of sweet and spicy spirits hits my nose.. I see my grandfather in his prime before me.. A distinguished gentlemans scent.

• The beard oil, a soft and gentle texture, that goes into the beard like it knows its purpose in life. Leaves it soft and manageable.

• The beard balm, hard at first touch, but melts with ease when rubbing it between your palms. Easy to work into the beard, and gives a medium hold for those stray strands of beard that sometimes goes on their own adventures..

• The moustache wax, a perfect every day wax, mayhaps not for a whole night out and about at town or at sea. But when taking a hike and having a good time it does its trick!

Latherpalooza x2

Do you love the smell of vacation? Then you will love this Beard Wash from Beardilizer.

It slightly resembles the amazing smell of beach and sun screen. I for one love the smell of sun screen and it really lets me dream myself away to a warm country with amazing beaches. Living in Sweden with most of the year being dark, cold and snowy, stuff like this is wonderful. I love the scent to the extent that I sometimes put a little bit of Beardilizer Beard Wash on the back of my hand, and keep sniffing it for hours, it’s that great.

If I close my eyes I can imagine myself laying on a beach somewhere, preferably in Australia, as it has always been a dream of mine to go there.

As for beard washing capabilities, this is the stuff. It really gets the beard oil and beard balm residue out of your beard with ease, my beard feels super soft, super clean and super fresh after using this beard wash. I sometimes apply an extra coating just for the enjoyment of doing it.

The Lathering Effect

I mean, just a few drops and you get more bubbles then a hottub filled with bath bubbles, I love it. The smell makes it even better. I’ve had my tube of Beardilizer Beard Wash for awhile now, and my first tube lasted me well over two months. If you ever feel that you need a new beard wash, try this one, you wont be disappointed.

Some of the qualities of Beardilizer Beard Wash include: (From Beard-Growth.com)

Music, Nõberu and Beard, well that’s me in 3 short words. When it comes to hair and beard products i’m quite picky. I don’t write reviews about products just to push them or to get free samples. I’m always honest and i would never recommend any products that’s bad to friends and followers. I’ve now tried Nõberu for a couple of weeks and i really have to say that I’m impressed. Everything is really tested, well taken care of and works perfect with my beard. Here is my review about their beard balm.

Nõberu Beard Balm (Sandalwood) Points 5/5
When it comes to beard balms I’m the kind of guy that wants my beard to stay in shape for a hole day, without being forced to put some more in after a couple of hours. This beard balm keeps my beard in shape for a hole day and i love it. The unique thing about this beard balm is that its easy to work with and wash of both your hands and beard. The best thing about this balm is when you comb your beard after applying it. When using a comb or a brush, this beard balm combines the air and the oils from the ingredients. The result? THICKER BEARD!!! I know i’m not speaking for myself when it comes to thicker beard, we all want it! So this is a balm i really recommend.

As i promised you guys a couple of days ago, i would keep you updated regarding these marvelous beard care products from Nõberu Of Sweden. This is my review about their Beard oil that comes in 2 different types of oils, Heavy beard oil and Feather beard oil. Remember that you can buy all these products at www.noberu.se and www.beardshop.se

Heavy beard oil (Sandalwood) Points 5/5
As i wrote last time, these guys really, really made it with the fragrance.
The heavy beard oil is just amazing. Your beard will get that luxurious shine and also make your beard feel smoother as you brush it out before putting on that beard wax. It’s also easy to get it of your hands and beard whit just a tiny bit of soap and water. From other beard oils I’ve tried, i noticed that this one keeps the fragrance fresh even at the end of the day. I’m a smoker and i know a lot of bearded people who also smoke will noticed that their beard starts to smell funky after a coupe of cigarettes because of the oil and the beard wax. This oil doesn’t do that.

Feather beard oil (Amber-Lime) Points 4/5
I scored this one 4/5 just because its thinner. That doesn’t have to be negative, its just that I’m used to the heavier kind of beard oils. This is also really easy to wash of your hands and beard, and even if its thinner, the fragrance is still fresh at the end of the day. I also think I’m kind of in love with Amber-Lime this fragrance reminds me of the perfume Acqua di gio, which i use to have on me all the time when i was younger. I think ill use Amber-Lime for this summer.

I’m also using these oils on my hair because they have a lot of good vitamins in them from the different oils that’s mixed up in the ingredients. So these can also be recommended for women hair.

Written by Hani Alwani

A couple of days a go, i got a package from this new beard care company called Nõberu Of Sweden. I’ve already heard a lot about their products from friends. So i decided to contact them and see if i could try their beard care. In my package there was, Beard Wash, Beard Conditioner, Beard Oil, Beard Wax and Mustache wax. In the next couple of weeks i will only try these products and nothing else to see how they work on my beard, both styling and care.

Beard Wash (Sandalwood) 5/5 Points
This beard wash is probably one of the best I’ve tried so far. It smells fresh Sandalwood and it also doesn’t make your beard dry after using it. The best thing about it, is that you only need a couple of drops. Its foamy and it really cleans out the beard wax and oil from your beard. If your a, on the road guy like me, this bottle is in a perfect size to pack with you. Its also plastic which i prefer.

Beard Conditioner (Sandalwood) 5/5 Points
So far I’ve only tried a couple of beard conditioners, and from what i can feel the day after whit this conditioner, is that my beard feels smooth, almost silky smooth. You only need a couple of drops from this conditioner, depending on the amount of your beard of course. Use it after you washed your beard whit the Beard Wash.

I really think this kind of beard care feels exclusive, the bottles is made out of plastic and are in a perfect size to take whit you, and they really look good to. You can really feel that Nõberu Of Sweden is a company that made this out of experience, testings and the most important thing what their customers and new customers want to use.

Leonis Barbam Barbarossa & Ned Kelly Beard Balm

From Belgium comes this amazing and really neat beard balm (and other products as well, in another review). The Ned Kelly and Barbarossa, and I gotta say, I really like the gold jar for the Barbarossa, it’s a really nice touch! Both of these balms contain Beeswax, Coconut oil, Shea butter, Cocoa butter & Sweet almond oil. A great base to make some outstanding beard balm!

Oh how I love beard balm, I could use beard balm all the time. Not only does it keep my beard where it needs to be, but also makes it bigger, stronger and more healthy. Leonis Barbam beard balm is no exception, as a matter of fact, these balms are on the top on my favorites list. The perfect mix of ingredients really hit the spot as for hold, thickness, application and scent. This is one balm I will order more of when it runs out, it’s that good!

nedkellyStarting off with Leonis Barbam Ned Kelly beard balm – Ok, I’m up! This, this is good. With a semi soft consistency and perfect hold the Ned Kelly beard balm smells of fantastic and strong citrus, with a hint of some peppermint I think. It’s so crisp that you almost can break the air in half, it’s so fresh that it feels like you just had a shower after you apply it. It smells so good that you almost want to eat it. It comes in a 50 ml/2 oz can!

I’ve tried lots of citrus scented beard products the last few years, seeing as it’s one of the basic scents. But this citrusy and fresh scented beard balm is something else. It’s more powerful, it’s more alive and it’s more citrusy. It’s hard to explain, but you really want more of this. I’m so glad they don’t make edible beard balm, it would bankrupt me… :)

The ingredient list on the Ned Kelly beard balm is: Yellow Beeswax pellets (Cera Flava), Cocos Nucifera (Coconut Oil), Shea Butter (Butyrospermum Parki), Cocoa Butter (Theobroma Cacao), Parfum (Natural essential oils), Maleleuca Alternifolia, Citrus, Piper Negrum, Myristica Fragrens, Prunus Amygdalus (Sweet almond oil).

barbarossLeonis Barbam Barbarossa beard balm – You’re killing me here, you know that?! The memories this beard balm sparks is nothing but amazing. With the risk of boring you I will tell you a short story about my childhood. I grew up on a horse farm in the northern parts of Sweden, and I tried to help as much as I could, running around the stable as a kid, caring for the horses and what not. There were one thing that I really enjoyed doing, and that was cleaning the horses hoofs and applying lotion to their calfs. The lotion we used smelled so damn good, fresh, spicy and warm. A real crowdpleaser. Leonis Barbam Barbarossa beard balm smells exactly like that lotion.

Later, when I became a teenager and used to hang out by the local grill and chew gum, looking cool and all, that memory of the lotion hit me again. There was this gum, it tasted exactly as that horse lotion, so good, so sweet and so warm. It was called “Jenka”, and I loved it. Leonis Barbam Barbarossa beard balm smells exactly like that gum tasted!

Later I’ve learned that that scent is almost like root beer, but I can’t confirm as I’ve never tasted root beer, it’s not avaliable in Sweden I think! Anyway, if that’s the case, the Barbarossa beard balm smells kinda like root beer. Tho all I know is that it’s warm, it’s cozy, it’s loving and caring. I feel loved while wearing this and I love it. It almost brings a tear to my eye and I remember the good old days. Thank you Leonis Barbam for this.

The ingredient list on the Barbarossa beard balm is: Yellow Beeswax pellets (Cera Flava), Cocos Nucifera (Coconut Oil), Shea Butter (Butyrospermum Parki), Cocoa Butter (Theobroma Cacao), Parfum (Natural essential oils), Betula Lenta, Betula Alba, Rosa Centifola, Boswellia Thurifera, Commipihora Myrrha, Prunus Amygdalus (Sweet almond oil).

Weirdy Beardy The Raven & Woodpecker beard oil

Weirdy Beardy, oh how I have wanted to try these products for so long. The name sparked my interest a few months back, as well as the logo. And being a fan of Australia, I could not resist. And a few weeks ago they finally arrived, and to my surprise the bottles were huge, not the standard 30 ml bottles, but big 50 ml, these are gonna last me quite a while. I also got a Weirdy Beard Beard Buff, a kind of a face and beard scrub with a fantastic citrusy scent, but I’m getting to that one in another post, as I haven’t had time to test it thoroughly. But I’m really excited about it!

“Made by a man with a beard”

My favorite quote on a beard product. Made by a man with a beard, that’s all I need to buy this product. That is the ultimate seal of approval and selling point. Haha, amazing!

Weirdy Beardy The RavenStarting out the with Weirdy Beardy oil – The Raven – The sandalwood come out pretty clear, but then you have the other scents lingering in the back, patchouli, rosemary, white pepper, sweet orange and so on, these other scents for some sort of beard oil symbiosis of joy. First you have the sandalwood, we all know that scent, but then comes the other and totally turns everything upside down, it twists, turns and kick things into motion. The blend of scents is hard for my brain to comprehend and I almost end up in some sort of euphoric state where I can’t stop sniffing my beard. I take deep breaths, inhale and almost taste it on my tongue. The scent it really crisp, invigorating and uplifting. At the end there is a sting of spicyness that gets me alert and focused. I applied this oil in the morning, and I woke up faster then I usually do, that kick and spark is just what I needed!

It reminds me of oiling up a piece of art in woodshop class, or putting on a nice oily finish on a wooden structure. I love it, it’s really, really nice! I keep sniffing my beard throughout the day.

The oil itself is clear, almost completely see through, a bit runny but easy applicable, my beard soaked it up like a sponge, making extremely soft, but manageable. It gives my beard a fantastic shine, wonderful smell and it feels great, not oily at all. A fantastic oil!

The ingredients in Weirdy Beardy’s – The Raven – beard oil: Kukui nu oil, Shea butter, Moroccan argan oil, Virgin avocado oil, coconut oil, Virgin rosehip oil, Bergamot essential oil, Sweet orange essential oil, Rosemary essential oil,  White pepper essential oil, Patchouli essential oil, Tabaco absolute cajuput essential oil, Lime essential oil, Cypress essential oil, Vitamin E natural, Vitamin B5 natural.

Weirdy Beardy WoodpeckerContinuing with Weirdy Beardy oil – Woodpecker –
If I hadn’t become completely sold on Weirdy Beardy beard oils by testing out The Raven, Woodpecker would’ve closed the deal. WOW. This is a clean, crisp and citrusy yet sweet oil, it reminds me of some sort of drink or beverage. It’s very citrusy, but with a kick… or a peck?! in the right direction. It’s fresh beyond fresh and a real winner. This is marketed as a daily use oil, and I would gladly use it everyday, all night and around the clock. My fiancee usually doesn’t notice when I try on new oils, but with this one she said: “Oooh, you smell gooood”. And yes, I do, thanks to the Woodpecker.

Weirdy Beardy have mixed some really nice ingredients in this and got the proportions absolutely right. I feel healthy, I feel strong and I feel like wide awake using this oil, somehow the clean, crisp citrus scent, mixed with patchouli, sandalwood, may chang etc, gives it a sweet, fruity aftertone. As with The Raven, I feel like sniffing this all day long!

The oil is a bit darker then The Raven, a yellow’ish tone with good flow. Just as good absorption as the other one and just as easy to use. A fine oil, a magnificent oil, a masterpiece!

The ingredients in the Woodpecker beard oil by Weirdy Beardy is: Australian hem seed oil, Shea butter, Coconut oil, Golden jojoba oil, Australian macadamia oil, Frankincense essential oil, Myrrh essential oil, Vitamin E natural, Buriti virgin oil, Sandalwood nut oil, Sandalwood essential oil, Patchouli essential oil, May chang essential oil, ,Nutmeg essential oil.

In conclusion, fantastic oils that are well worth a try. Big bottles that will last you a long time. Fantastic scents that will open your eyes. Amazing labels and graphics, really high quality. And as a bonus, I got a temporary tattoo with my order, that I have to use! Really great idea!

The Beard Lab Co warms my heart and Beard!

So, I got this oil a month or so ago and have been trying it extensively over the last few weeks. It’s been a great oil to have at hand in all the stress with work, events and putting in tons of extra hours. The Beard Lab Co’s Luxury Amber beard oil have really picked e up when I needed it the most. I’ve been really tired from work, almost to the point where I’ve become sick, feverish and a bit under the weather.

It’s been a few hectic months, but hopefully I’ll be able to wind down and focus on whats most important.

Moving on with The Beard Lab Co’s Luxury Amber beard oil, I must say it brings me joy, a feeling of warmth and cozyness. It got a distinct scent of clove, mixed with some lemon and lavender. The lavender helps break off the strong clove with a little floras punch, which is amazing. I can see myself using this in the winter time, drinking mulled wine with my fiancee while watching a movie in candlelight. The clove makes me, my beard and even my fiancee warm to the heart and it reminds us of times past. Of times when you were a little kid, waking up on Christmas morning with joy and hope in your heart, eating that Christmas morning porridge and getting a non alcoholic glass of warm mulled wine.

My parents had almost the same procedure every year and I still remember it clearly. The best thing with this oil is that it reminds me of those times. Those times when my father was still alive, our grandparents were there, there were laughing, love and family. A fleeting memory, which almost brings tears to my eyes as I write this. It’s not with easy I write these words, and I’m lucky I’m sitting here alone. The memories are really coming back to me. A time long lost, but still in my memory, hidden away… until now!

THIS, exactly this feeling is what I look for when I try new products. A scent or product that brings back memories, something that opens my heart and let the feelings out. Something that almost makes my cry, not out of sadness, but out of happiness and joy. The Beard Lab Co’s Luxury Amber did this, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. This is something I really needed. If I ever feel sad or down, I will use this oil and remember. Remember my father, remember my grandmother, remember my parents together, my family together and the love we shared. Something I hope to give my fiancee and our future child/children some day!

Getting back to the actual Luxury Amber beard oil. As you might expect, I love the scent, hopefully I made it pretty clear above. As for consistency, it’s perfect. The Beard Lab Co have gotten the it right, not too thick, just perfect. It absorbs instantly into my beard with ease, and I doesn’t feel to “watery”.

The ingredients in The Beard Lab Co Luxury Amber Beard oil is: Prunus dulcis (Sweet Almond) Kernel Oil, Simmondsia chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Citrus aurantium dulcis (Orange) Peel Oil, Cedrus atlantica (Cedarwood) Bark Oil, Tocopheryl acetate (Vitamin E), Lavandula angustifolia (Lavender) Oil, Eugenia caryophyllus (Clove) Bud Oil, Limonene, HydroxyCitronellal, Geraniol.

I’ll leave it at this, and if you want a strong, warm and fantastic oil, check out The Beard Lab Co’s website, Facebook and Amazon page.

And thank you once again for giving me back these memories, I really needed it!

Beard Wash Bonanza

Mr Bear Family, the brand we all know and love recently released their new line of Beard Wash with three different scents. The scents are the classic ones, also available as beard oil, mustache wax and beard balm. The scents are Citrus, Wilderness and Woodland.

Whether you are new in the beard community or a long time member, most of you know Mr Bear Family, they where one of the first brands on the modern market and have gained a lot of attention and praise all over the world. With products that deliver a sense of satisfaction with each drop or scoop, with scents recognizable by anyone and a logo out of this world, Mr Bear Family is really a brand to be counted on.

wash-wildernessThe new line of Beard Wash are a very welcome addition to their already amazing products. It have been tested thoroughly for a long time, and just recently it became available to us all.

I’ve been trying them all some time now and as with their other products, they DO NOT disappoint. A beard wash or beard shampoo has to be gentle to your beard and at the same time remove beard oil/balm residue left from your awesome beard day. The Mr Bear Family Beard Wash does just that.

The scents capture the essence of Mr Bear Family perfectly and goes perfectly with their line of oils and balms. There’s nothing better washing your beard in the shower and feeling those great scents flushing through your beard, cleaning it thoroughly and making it feel crisp and healthy.

The Beard Wash lathers pretty good and my beard feels great afterwards. I really feel clean and ready for another serving of beard balm or oil.

I have this thing after a shower. I towel dry my beard, apply some really nice beard oil and run a hairdryer through it, drying it really good. The oil helps protect against the heat from the hairdryer (use the cold setting if available). Afterwards I brush through it, and then finish off with some beard balm, giving my beard that extra kick, making it bigger and fuller.

If you know Mr Bear Family’s products from before, you will not be disappointed using their beard wash, it really binds their brand together perfectly.

I you have not tried Mr Bear Family before, do it. Get some oil, balm and wash, I recommend getting one of each scent as they all have their original and special scent.

Final thoughts
A great beard wash/schampoo that you really need to get. They come in 250ml pump action bottles, so they will keep you stocked for a good while.

The ingredients are: aqua, sodium C12-18 alkyl sulfate, coco-glucoside, polysorbate 20, sodium chloride, glyceryl oleate, potassium sorbate, sodium benzoate, panthenol, butylene glycol, glycyrrhetinic acid, urea, allantoin, sodium phytate, citric acid, maltodextrin, beta glucan, levulinic acid, glycerin, sodium levulinate, alcohol, essential oils.

Check out Mr Bear Family’s website – you can order directly from their site!

Original & Sandalwood

I got wind of Pricey’s Beard Balm a few months ago, seeing them pop up here and there. That sparked my interest and they look really nice. Here we are, after a few weeks of testing, feeling and smelling. What do I think? Well, keep reading…

First of all, Pricey’s beard balm come in the standard aluminum cans, the labels are color coded based on scent, which is nice. The Original comes with a blue label and the Sandalwood with a dark orange/red label. Looking at their website there are also a yellow label for lemon and a light orange for…. well orange scent.

Pricey’s write on their website: “Pricey’s Beard Care was started with the goal of creating the finest smelling, beard-softening balms in the business. We wanted to break away from the generic ‘lightly scented’ balms that exist, to provide our customers with beard balms that not only condition and protect, both the beard and skin, but also smell noticeably good!”

And I must agree, they have captured the scents perfectly, and a lot. The scent lingers on for hours and is pretty strong, but not overpowering.

Sandalwood – The sandalwood scented beard balm is great, truly great. A really woodsy scent with sandalwood and cedarwood that reminds  me of a lumberyard, a deep and dark scent of fresh cut wood. And as for the balm? Well, it’s also great. Perfect hold that keep my beard in place for many hours, and it doesn’t feel sticky. It’s easy to apply, just scrape some up with the back of your thumb or a wax picker. Warm it in the palm of your hand and massage it into your beard, brush or comb through it and you’re set. Style as wanted.

Original – Aaah, there’s nothing like a fresh citrus kick in the pleasure center in the morning. A strong yet pleasant citrus scent, that may be one of the best blends of citrus I’ve tried. Usually they tend to smell too much or not enough, this is perfect. I love it. As for the original, it’s a little bit softer then the other balm, but not in a way that’s very noticeable. My beard still keeps in place for hours, although it is a bit easier to scoop up and apply. This balm makes me go smell my beard all the time, I really like this.

Final thoughts
Pricey’s Beard Balm are really great products, they smell fantastic, are easy to apply and got great hold. They have a awesome old style label and I would urge you all to try these. I wish I could eat the citrus balm, it smells sooo good! And yeah, looking at their website, there is hints of a beard oil and a beard wax as well, and if they are made with the same and loving care as these balms, they are gonna be real winners!

“Ten thousand fists in the beard!”

If you wonder what I mean with the quote above, just keep reading and it will all be clarified!
Brooklyn Soap Company is a pretty new brand for me, I first heard about them in the last quarter of 2014, but they’ve been around since 2012. And thanks to Beardshop.se I got the try their Beard Wash and Beard Oil the last few weeks. I’m a part of Beardshops reviewing site called “Testpiloterna”, it’s in Swedish and it’s filled with male grooming product reviews. Testpiloterna is the Swedish word for Test Pilots. You can find this review in Swedish as well, written by me, for Testpiloterna – HERE!

Anyway, let’s get going with this review.

Brooklyn Soap Company Beard Wash, what sorcery is this?
If you did not know, I’m a metal head, I love every kind of metal music and listen to it everyday. Then again, who doesn’t love music! One great song is Disturbed’s “Ten Thousand Fists“, I love it. I came to think about that song when using this Beard Wash, why? Well, after i applied the Beard Wash something happened, it started to lather so much, so much is kind of felt like someone was massaging my beard, it was a weird feeling. It felt so good, I was amazed, I smiled and laughed at the feeling. Then the song from Disturbed came to my mind, and I thought, why haven’t anyone made a cover yet, called “Ten Thousand Fists in the Beard”…

Other then that, it smells amazing of peppermint and rosemary. It’s refreshing and crisp enough to be a year round product, specially in the summer. But also warm and spicy enough to be a Christmas product. The lathering is freaking amazing, the fact that it lathers so much it feels like someone else is massaging your beard is pretty powerful.

The only downside with the Beard Wash for me is that it make my beard feel very dry after washing it out. But then again, you are supposed to use a moisturizing beard oil after your shower anyway. The consistency of the Beard Wash is light, see through and loose, it’s easy to apply and easy to wash out.  It smells great, fresh, crisp and very uplifting. I gladly re-apply it one extra time just because of the peppermint scent. Which also have a cooling effect on your skin, it feels great.

Ingredients are: Aqua, Sodium Coco Sulfate, Sodium Chloride, Coco Glucoside, Cocamidopropyl Betain, Dicaprylyl Carbonate, Sodium PCA, Rosmarinus Officinalis Leaf Oil, Mentha Piperita Oil, Mentha Spicata Leaf Oil, Polyglyceryl-2 Laurate, Sodium Benzoate, Citric Acid, Limonene, Linalool.

Brooklyn Soap Company Classic Beard Oil, hmmm!
I had very high hopes for this one after using the Beard Wash, I actually was hoping that the two products would have a scent the bound them together a little bit. But the beard oil smells completely different from the Beard Wash. It smells good, don’t get me wrong, but I was hoping that the oil would also have this peppermint scent, remembering me of the shower I had just minutes ago. I actually got a little bit disappointed. A dark, woodsy smell, great in it’s own way, good enough on it’s own, but not good enough when combining with the beard wash.

The consistency of the oil is a little bit loose as well, I would’ve wanted it to be a little bit thicker. This sucks, I wish I had tried to oil on it’s own, now I can’t shake the connection between the two. The oil smells good, as I said, but together with the beard wash, it doesn’t make a connection. I wish it did tho!

Ingredients in the oil areSesamum Indicum Seed Oil, Simmondsia Chinensis Seed Oil, Argania Spinosa Oil, Tocopherol, Lavandula Angustifolia, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosmary) Leaf Oil, Pinus Cembra, Linalool, Geraniol, Limonene, Cinnamal, Citronnellol, Coumarin.

Final thoughts:
Starting with the beard wash… Amazing! It’s not even funny, you need to get this, it’s fantastic and a great experience. Get it, enough said!
Brooklyn Soap Company, if you read this, please make a beard oil that resembles the beard wash, scent wise, they will go great together! And maybe a little bit thicker if possible. Other then that, the Classic Beard Oil is good, does what it’s supposed to do, make your beard healthy and shiny!

Instigator Brand Beard Armor Gasparilla & Ybor beard oils!

I had the pleasure to try out Mangrove beard oil from Instigation Beard a long time ago, and I was very impressed. And when I saw that they released two new scents recently, I was so happy. They arrived at my home a few weeks ago, and I’ve been testing them thoroughly from day 1. I was going to write this much earlier, but due to getting a new, more stressful job, and doing radio and newspaper interviews for our World Beard Day event, time wasn’t enough. I do think that was a good thing tho, now I can test them and write a honest review, stress free and in the comfort of my home.

Starting with Ybor, I was instantly amazed by the complexity of this oil, both scent wise and texture. It really absorbs great in to my beard, better then most oils, and it really shows that lot’s of love, care and experimenting have gone in to these oils. The scent kinda hit me like a cannonball, I was instantly taken back to a previous life as a fierce and bearded pirate, sailing the open seas, plundering, looting and striking fear into men, women and children alike.

A scent that reminds me of a damp and full cargo hold filled with loot… gold, spices and of course rum. A scent that really gets my fantasy going. The oil kind of inspires me to write a novel or a book, re-inventing Pirates of the Caribbean almost. The complexity of the scent is mesmerizing, I’m grabbing notes from all over my nose, mind and beard, the damp, they spicy, the fresh and the uplifting qualities. This is something you need to try, and I can promise, that you will love it.

Ybor ingredients:  Almond oil, Avocado oil, Argan oil, Jojoba oil, Rosewood essential oil and fragrances.

The Gasparilla oil from Instigator Brand Beard Armor is really a WOW kind of oil. With it’s fruity and sweet scent it really makes me smile. It got a bay rum scent and if I’m not mistaken, the fragrance is pineapple, it really reminds me of a crisp and sweet pineapple afterscent. Still going on the pirate theme I can see myself on a beach in the Caribbean, gazing at the horizon for enemy ships coming to steal my treasure, all the while I drink from my homemade rum from a pineapple. The scent is so fresh and amazing I wish I could drink it, the sweetness and fruity goes perfect together, and it really feels like all three oils, Mangrove, Ybor and Gasparilla is made with so much love and care, and each other in mind, because they all give me the same feeling, and are really something new and something else.

Gasparilla ingredients:  Almond oil, Avocado oil, Argan oil, Jojoba oil, Bay rum essential oil and fragrances.

Without overdoing it, these oils are in my favorite part of my cabinet of beard products. I really enjoyed them and I’m almost running out of both, which means that I’m gonna order some in the next few day, you should too.

If you want to order these or read more about the oil, do checkout the Instigator Beard websiteFacebookTwitterInstagram

Beard Monster Four Horsemen beard oil

Beard Monster, the brand that will keep your interest and imagination juices flowing, kinda like their beard oil, the Four Horsemen. Not only does Beard Monster have this awesome and cool logo, but also very interesting names for their products. With names like Witch’s Brew, Zombie Killer, Ghostly Pirate, Death’s Garden, Wolfman, Bigfoot, Four Horsemen, Vampire Hunter etc, you can’t be anything but super stoked and super excited about what they would smell and feel like. The names intrigues me so much and I wish I could try them all. They do offer a beard oil sample pack for only $14.99 on their website, which consist of 5 sample sized bottles, with 5 scents of your choosing. Pretty nifty and good if you can’t decide.

Beard Monster’s Four Horsemen beard oil really stands out, it captures me in a way few products have done before, might it be that the scent is something completely new, something I’ve never seen before. And can it be that the oil itself, scented or not, feels fantastic and does wonders with my beard! The absorption is perfect, the consistency is very loose and your beard will drink it upp like it’s the blood of a newborn in a death metal music video. It’s light yellow in color and does not stain.

The Four Horseman scent is very complex and different. It’s almost hard to describe what it smells like. I will try my best, but I promise you, if you get this oil, you won’t regret it! The oil if made up of Four different scents, which by the way blends beautifully and perfect. The advertised scents are Tobacco, Leather, Coffee and Musk, and I must say, I feel them all. The concoction is so perfectly blended that when I apply this oil to my beard, I smile…

I smile because it fills me with satisfaction, with power and with a sense of fulfillment. I feel invigorated, I feel manly and I feel on top of the world. The sweet scent of tobacco and dark coffee blends together to form a nice round scent, a pleasant scent which lingers and soothes. Along comes the leather, which is the main smell, but also the best one. As it blends with the coffee and tobacco, it’s almost magical. It’s hard to describe. But I love this scent. On the end the musk comes in and kinda evens it out and adds that little extra.

Four Horsemen!

I truly believe that this oil may be one of my absolute favorites, one of the oils I want to have more of, and one of those oil that I so truly wished that I could do a giveaway on. The oil is so greatly balanced, manly, and rough that I can’t believe anyone who wouldn’t like it.

I do hope that you at least order a sample pack and be sure to include the Four Horsemen in it, because this is great!
