Benevolent Beard Oil – Softer Beards that Make a Difference

I’ll start off by applauding this initiative, it’s great to see a company that donates 10% of every bottle sold to Doctors without Borders, while buying this, not only do you get a great oil but also you do something good for others. This is a copy-paste from their website,

We’ll put our money where our beards are. For every bottle of beard oil sold, we donate 10% directly to charities working to save human lives from easily preventable issues such as clean water, food, and basic medicine.

Isn’t that amazing?! We all need to work together to save as many lives as we can and stop as many diseases as we can. This is the only word and the only life we have, let’s make the best of it.

Anyway, it got to try 4 different oils from Benevolent Beard Oil’s and here they are:

reinedBenevolent Beard Oil – Refined – The oil called Refined is a very nice scent, I can make out some cedarwood and and maybe some eucalyptus. A very nice and very refreshing and crisp scent, it goes great with my beard and I feel invigorated and alert. I suffer from a lot of headaches and migraines unfortunately, but when they come I usually add some cedarwood beard oils to my mustache, the strong wood scent goes straight to my brain and in some placebo way, my head feels better. The Eucalyptus gives it that little kick in the back of the nose, it’s really great.

The ingredients in the Refined oil is: Grapeseed Oil, Jojoba Oil, Castor Oil, Almond Oil, Pure Vitamin E.
Essential Oils: Cedarwood, Rosemary, Eucalyptus, Grapefruit

woodsyBenevolent Beard Oil – Woodsy – Oh wow, this is a new one for me, I was expecting the regular woodsy and cedarwood/sandalwood smell, but this is great. It’s a much stronger, deeper woodsy smell then I anticipated, it really digs itself in, and it lingers in my nose, it’s hard to put my finger on it, but as it is deep, dark and musky, it also got a fruity, yet very refreshing scent. And looking at the ingredients I see that there’s lime and lavender in it, that explains it. It’s extremely well balanced, with a almost smokey undertone that picks up and shoots to the sky in a crisp and fresh way. I really enjoy this one, it gave me a really good surprise.

The ingredients in the Woodsy oil is: Grapeseed Oil, Jojoba Oil, Castor Oil, Almond Oil, Pure Vitamin E.
Essential Oils: Cedarwood, Lavender, Lime

citrusBenevolent Beard Oil – Citrus – I think I was expecting a much more relatable scent from the Citrus, I think my mind was set on a clear, crisp lemon scent. Fool me once…. This was not the regular old citrus I expected, not at all, but still a pretty good surprise. It’s very deep, the scent comes from far away, deep inside the oil. It’s pretty soft, and held back. I do like it, but I could used a little more scent, a more citrusy scent, the darker and deeper tones kind of overpowers the lime and grapefruit, non the less, it smells great, tho a little to little and soft.

The ingredients in the Citrus oil is: Grapeseed Oil, Jojoba Oil, Castor Oil, Almond Oil, Pure Vitamin E.
Essential Oils: Rosewood, Lime, Grapefruit, Eucalyptus

nakedBenevolent Beard Oil – Naked – Not much to say about this one, because it’s scentless, or naked! Tho it is great for you who don’t want scented beard oils, or are allergic to strong scents. This oil, as tho other 3 has a great consistency and is absorbed greatly in my beard. I also did the hand test, were I put some oil in my hands and see if it’s absorbed after 10 minutes, and this one is. Quickly absorbed both by my skin and beard, that’s a great quality and something a oil should have.

The ingredients in the Naked oil is: Grapeseed Oil, Jojoba Oil, Castor Oil, Almond Oil, Pure Vitamin E.

As a bonus, I got one each of these oils to giveaway at a future date, probably after the holidays as I’m writing this in the middle of December and going on vacation soon, and with everyone being up to their ears in food, gifts and family, it’s best to wait! :)

Final thoughts:
Great scents for sure, favorite one is Woodsy, and that’s mostly because it’s so deep and refreshing, also because it gave me such a surprise. The Refined is great and is a oil you should get. The citrus one was a bit too soft for me, but great if you like softer smelling oils. The naked one is great if you’re looking for scentless oils. Oil wise they are amazing and quickly absorbed, a great combination of oil’s make this a winner.
